Pedestrian fatally struck in South Boston

A 66-year-old man from Boston was struck by a vehicle on Old Colony Avenue in South Boston at about 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to Massachusetts State Police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the 38-year-old vehicle operator, of Stoughton, remained at the site of the crash. Police have not released the identities of the victim and driver.

No charges had been filed as of Tuesday night, according to police.
