On April 15, 2013, Sydney Corcoran was watching the Boston Marathon on Boylston Street when two bombs exploded, killing three and injuring hundreds of others, including both Sydney and her mother, Celeste.
In the years since the attack, Corcoran has found an unlikely method of healing: by getting lots and lots of tattoos.
“The tattoos tell a story,’’ she told The Boston Globe. “With my actual scars [from the bombing], I didn’t have a choice of how I wanted my body to look. But by getting tattoos I am marking my body the way I want.’’
