Two Everett teenagers suspected of MS-13 gang affiliation arraigned on murder charges

Two Everett teeenagers who authorities say may be affiliated with the MS-13 gang were arraigned Monday on murder charges.

Jose Vasquez Ardon and Cristian Nunez-Flores, both 17, are charged in the January 2 shooting death of 19-year-old Omar Wilfredo Reyes, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s office.

Both Ardon and Nunez-Flores were ordered held without bail.

“This crime was a senseless act of violence where it is alleged that the defendants lured the victim, another teenager, out of his home and allegedly took his life,’’ District Attorney Marian Ryan said in a statement.

Last week, the details of how authorities say the MS-13 gang operates in Massachusetts were described in a federal indictment against 56 alleged members.

Authorities say Reyes received a text asking him to meet Ardon on the evening of January 2, and that surveillance video shows the defendants and Reyes in the area under the Tileston Street Bridge, where Reyes was later found suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Ardon and Nunez-Flores were arrested on January 30. They are due back in court on March 1, 2016.
