Speed limit reduced on Mass Pike

MassDOT reports 2,739 crews are plowing and clearing state roads.

State police have reduced the Mass Pike speed limit to 40 mph for the entire length of the highway. Tandem trailers and propane tankers are prohibited from traveling on the Pike.

Gov. Charlie Baker is urging motorists to avoid travel this afternoon and evening.

A tractor-trailer jack-knifed in Framingham on the Mass Pike east just after 2 p.m. Monday afternoon, closing the right lane, according to Massachusetts State Police. Police said no one was injured in the crash and the lane reopened just after 2:30 p.m.
