A 38-year-old woman has admitted she raped a teenager while she was employed as a food services worker at a Weymouth middle school, according to prosecutors.
Janelle Foley pleaded guilty to four counts of rape of a child on Wednesday, according to the Norfolk County District Attorney’s office. A trial was set to begin this week.
Foley was indicted in March 2014 and charged with raping a 15-year-old boy, who authorities said was not a student at Chapman Middle School where Foley worked at the time the crimes occurred.
The mother of four was accused of sexually assaulting the victim during parties at his family’s home, according to The Patriot Ledger.
Foley’s defense attorney described her as a lifelong Weymouth resident who has been plagued by mental health and substance abuse issues, according to the Ledger.
Foley was sentenced to 2.5 to 4.5 years in prison. She will also be required to register as a sex offender and have no unsupervised contact with any children under 18 except her own.
