An arrest warrant was issued on Thursday for a man who allegedly killed a 36-year-old woman in her Malden apartment , according to a statement from the Middlesex District Attorney’s office.

Police are looking for Kenneth Manning, 35, of Malden. He’s wanted for the murder of Colleen Russell and for larceny of a motor vehicle, according to the DA’s office.

Police responded to a well-being check at the Cliffside Commons apartment complex on Broadway around 9 p.m. Monday. According to the DA’s office, police found Russel dead upon arrival and signs of a struggle inside the apartment. The cause of death was determined to be “sharp force injuries,’’ authorities said.

Police located Russell’s car in Somerville on Wednesday; however, authorities said they do not believe Manning has an affiliation with Somerville.

Manning was last seen on Tuesday in Somerville wearing dark pants and a dark hooded sweatshirt, authorities said. He has several distinctive tattoos, including a large cross on the back of his neck, a tribal tattoo on his left bicep, and the grim reaper on his left calf.
