Man arrested after allegedly shattering window and exposing himself on Orange Line train

A Melrose man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly shattered a glass window and exposed himself on an Orange line train, according to MBTA Transit Police.

Police recieved a call at around 10:55 p.m. for a man refusing to leave a train at Malden Center station.

Once on scene, officers found 32-year-old Daniel Steele on the train “acting eratically,’’ police said. Witnesses told police Steele had shattered the glass window to the MBTA inspector’s booth with his fist and fully exposed his genitals moments earlier, according to police.

Steele was arraigned Monday on charges of malicious destruction of property over $250 and open and gross lewdness.
