2 men arrested after arranging to sell stolen bike back to original owner

Two men were arrested Monday after police said they tried to sell a stolen bike back to its original owner.

Patrick Concannon, 28, of Braintree, and Terry Carter, 28, of Boston, were arrested by MBTA police and charged with receiving stolen property, police said.

On Monday, a man told police officers at South Station that his bike had been stolen over the weekend from Back Bay Station. The man said he saw the bike on a Craigslist listing and contacted the seller, who agreed to meet him at South Station to sell it, police said.

Officers saw Concannon and Carter walking toward the station with a bike and approached the two, determined the bike belonged to the victim, and arrested them, according to police.

Both were arraigned Tuesday in Boston Municipal Court-Central Division.
