Massachusetts house cleaner admits to jewelry thefts

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (AP) — A self-employed house cleaner has pleaded guilty to stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of jewelry from nearly a dozen customers in southeastern Massachusetts.

The Sun Chronicle (http://bit.ly/1WUzPGO ) reports that 33-year-old Stacy Erickson pleaded guilty Monday in Attleboro District Court to multiple counts of larceny in connection with the theft from homes in Norton, Attleboro and Mansfield.

The mother of three from Taunton was sentenced to two years’ probation and ordered to continue drug counseling.

Her attorney says Erickson was battling an opioid addiction at the time of the September thefts, but is now clean.

The prosecutor said the exact dollar amount of the thefts won’t be determined until a restitution hearing scheduled for April 29.
