A Boston charter school teacher has resigned following an investigation into alleged misconduct with a student.
Boston Prep, a Hyde Park charter school for middle and high school students, received reports of an inappropriate relationship between a student who was over the age of 18 and a teacher, the school’s executive director, Sharon Liszanckie, said in an email statement to Boston.com. The teacher was placed on paid administrative leave as school officials began an investigation.
At the investigation’s close, the teacher resigned, Liszanckie said. The school is now focusing on providing support services to its faculty, students, and their parents.
“This is a difficult time for our school community,” the statement said. “The alleged misconduct is an affront to our values. Our focus now is on supporting the student involved, as well as ensuring all our students, teachers and staff have access to services and supports to move forward.”
