A boy found wandering near the I-93 ramp near the JFK/UMass MBTA station early Friday morning has been reunited with his parents, according to Boston police.
An MBTA employee, who performs overnight maintenance work on Red Line signals, spotted the child at 3:20 a.m. and notified the MBTA control center, according to MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo.
“Police and EMS responded and took care of the small boy,” Pesaturo told Boston.com.
The boy, who is between 6 and 8 years old, was taken to Boston Medical Center for an evaluation, according to Officer Rachel McGuire with the Boston Police Department. Police also notified DCF of the situation, per police protocol, she said.
“He’s OK,” said McGuire. “He’s been reunited with his parents.”
Police are investigating the incident.
