High school student charged in stabbing at West Roxbury school

A 15-year-old student allegedly stabbed a fellow student at West Roxbury Academy Wednesday morning.

The 15-year-old Dorchester resident, who authorities are not identifying because of his age, was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and delinquency, according to the Suffolk District Attorney’s office. He was held on $50,000 cash bail and ordered to stay away from the victim, witnesses, and the school following his arraignment Wednesday afternoon in the Dorchester session of Suffolk County Juvenile Court. He was also ordered to remain under house arrest and wear a GPS monitor if he posts bail.

Police were called to the West Roxbury Education Complex on VFW Parkway at 8:32 a.m. where a 17-year-old student was found to have been stabbed. The 15-year-old was taken into custody, and the victim, who sustained three stab wounds, was transported to an area hospital for emergency surgery, according to the DA’s office.
