The 73-year-old woman involved in a head-on crash with a school bus in Sudbury has died, according to the Middlesex District Attorney’s office.
Patricia Metz was driving the sedan that collided with a bus transporting students from Algonquin Regional High School on Wednesday. The DA’s office said Metz died from injuries related to the crash after she was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston with serious injuries.
The school bus was carrying about 25 players from the school’s rugby team and two coaches when it was struck. Nine students, aged 15 to 18, and the bus driver sustained minor injuries from the crash.
Police said the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
