Authorities identify tree worker who died after 50-foot fall in Leominster

A man died after falling 50-feet from a bucket truck while cutting a tree branch in Leominster on Thursday, according to The Boston Globe.

The incident happened at 12:22 p.m. Authorities identified the 26-year-old on Friday afternoon as Nicholas Kallio of Fitchburg.

“[The branch] swung back on him and knocked him out of the bucket,” Leominster Police Lieutenant Richard Kinney told the Globe.

Kallio was pronounced dead at HealthAlliance Hospital in Leominster.

He worked for Affordable Landscaping and Tree Service.
