Boston and New York City may be taking their long-standing rivalry to the dance floor.
Officers from the New York Police Department joined in on the viral “Running Man Challenge” Tuesday night—and they’ve challenged Boston officers to be the next to bust a move.
“Are you up for it … Boston Police Department,” NYPD officers wrote on Facebook, also challenging the New York Fire Department and Police Scotland.
The NYPD’s challenge was posted as a response to a callout video by police in New Zealand. The New York officers were joined by students from Brooklyn’s PS 23 elementary school.
Boston officers have yet to responded to the challenge, according to The Boston Globe, but a spokeswoman for the department told the Globe Wednesday that “something might be in the works.”
The #runningmanchallenge was sparked by University of Maryland basketball players in March, when they posted videos to Instagram shuffling while staying straight-faced to the 1996 song “My Boo,” by the Ghost Town DJs.
