Students suffer minor injuries in Salem school bus crash

SALEM, Mass. (AP) — Six students suffered minor injuries when a car collided with a school bus in Salem.

Fire officials say a car collided with the Bowditch School bus at the intersection of North and Mason streets Thursday afternoon.

There were 33 students on the bus.

Salem fire Deputy Chief Gerry Giunta says most of the injuries were the result of children being thrown from their seats.

The six students were all taken to North Shore Children’s Hospital.

The car’s driver also was taken to a local hospital with what authorities described as a minor injury.
