Normal Green Line service resumes after derailment at Park Street

Green Line service has resumed between Haymarket and Park Street after a Friday derailment that disrupted the morning commute.

The all-clear was given around 12:45 p.m. On Twitter, the MBTA warned riders to expect severe residual delays.

The westbound trolley went off-track as it approached the platform at Park Street shortly before 9 a.m. None of the 200 passengers on-board were hurt, according to the state’s Department of Transportation.

The derailment forced Green Line riders to shift to the Orange Line between Haymarket and Downtown Crossing and use the underground pedestrian concourse between Downtown Crossing and Park Street.

“The MBTA has also added additional trains on the Orange Line for the off peak this morning to accommodate additional ridership,” MassDOT said in a statement Friday morning.
