Boston school playground fire was arson, says fire department
Someone deliberately set a school playground on fire in Roslindale on Monday night, according to the Boston Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to the blaze at Charles Sumner Elementary School at 9:50 p.m., posting to Twitter: “playground equipment on fire.”
The fire spread to the trees and power lines surrounding the equipment, so officials called Eversource to deal with the arcing wires in trees.
No one was injured and the incident is under investigation.
