After Dallas shooting, Boston police officers will patrol in pairs
In light of the fatal shooting of five police officers in Dallas on Thursday night, Boston police officers will conduct their patrols in pairs on Friday.
Police posted the following on Twitter on Friday morning:
In light of the tragedy in Dallas and in the best interests of
officer safety, all #BPD patrols will be conducted by two-officer units.— Boston Police Dept. (@bostonpolice) July 8, 2016
At least 11 police officers were shot and five were killed while hundreds of people gathered in Dallas to protest two recent fatal police shootings of black men in Louisiana and Minnesota.
All Boston police facilities will lower their flags to half staff in honor of the officers killed in the line of duty in Dallas.
