A 2-year-old girl was found dead in a New Hampshire home on Monday morning, authorities said.
Attorney General Joseph Foster said emergency personnel responded to a call Monday at a home in Somersworth, a town just north of Portsmouth on the Maine border.
When they got there, they found the girl unresponsive. She was later pronounced dead.
Assistant Attorney General Jay McCormack said, without final autopsy results, investigators can’t say yet whether the death is suspicious.
“Anytime a 2-year-old dies, there’s some level of suspicion,” he said.
An autopsy was performed Tuesday, but final autopsy results aren’t complete and additional studies are pending, and could take three to six months.
McCormack said three adults were in the home when the girl died.
