FALMOUTH, Mass. (AP) — Falmouth police say they arrested a man who threw suspected heroin at two officers, which sent all three to a hospital for treatment for exposure to narcotics.
Police say they executed a search warrrant Friday for a vehicle being driven by Russell Pena of Falmouth. Authorities say they found marijuana, cocaine and nearly $1,500 in cash. Pena and another man were arrested.
Police say Pena fought with officers while being booked at the police station, removed a bag of suspected heroin from his pants, broke it open and threw the drugs at the officers. Pena and the officers were treated at a hospital and discharged.
Pena was ordered detained on $5,000 cash-only bail after pleading not guilty to assault charges. It wasn’t immediately clear if he has a lawyer.
