Officials: Gun, booze found in student’s car at high school
BOXFORD, Mass. (AP) — School district officials say a gun and alcohol was found inside a student’s vehicle parked at a Boxford high school.
The Salem News reports Masconomet Regional School District superintendent Kevin Lyons states in an email Monday that staff were looking for alcohol in the car last week. It had been parked on the Masconomet Regional High School campus.
Lyons says the gun was an unexpected discovery. A school resource officer secured it and Boxford police later took possession of it.
The district says the student has been appropriately disciplined.
Lyons says the gun was never removed from the vehicle. School personnel and police didn’t believe anyone was ever in danger.
Further details weren’t immediately available.
