Former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal paid a visit to Framingham on Thursday, to deliver 100 video surveillance doorbells to the town’s police department.

O’Neal has partnered with Ring, a video doorbell startup founded by a Babson College alumnus, to promote neighborhood safety across the country by donating $1 million worth of Ring products. He joined Ring founder Jamie Siminoff to present the devices to the Framingham Police Department on Thursday morning, according to BostInno.

Siminoff and O’Neal kicked off their partnership by installing Ring’s video doorbells and floodlight cameras in Clayton County, Georgia, where O’Neal was sworn in as an honorary sheriff’s deputy in December.

“I grew up in a tough neighborhood and saw my fair share of crime; our neighborhoods need to be safer,” O’Neal said in a statement.
