Man denies murder charge in fatal Chinatown shooting
BOSTON (AP) — A Boston man has pleaded not guilty to murder in the fatal shooting of another man in the city last month.
Ricardo Edwards was arraigned Monday in Boston Municipal Court. He was ordered held without bail.
The charge stems from a May 27 shooting in the city’s Chinatown neighborhood.
Authorities say the victim was smoking a cigarette around 2:30 a.m. when the 23-year-old Edwards exited a vehicle and allegedly shot him several times after a brief conversation.
The victim’s name has not been made public.
Detectives continue to seek the public’s help in an effort to locate a second suspect, 21-year-old Greg Wright, of Cambridge.
Edwards’ lawyer says his client denies the allegation.
