Two arrested in Roxbury shooting that hurt guards near set of Denzel Washington movie

Two teenagers will face a judge Friday on charges of shooting security guards who had been hired to watch the set of “The Equalizer 2,’’ a movie starring Denzel Washington, in Roxbury over the weekend, officials said.

Dionte Martinez, 18, of Boston, and Thomas Perkins, 18, of Quincy, will be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of assault with intent to murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition, according to authorities.

The suspects were arrested Thursday. They’re accused of shooting the two guards, who were were attacked shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday on Whittier Street, according to Boston police. No scenes were being filmed at the time, cops said.
