Norwood police officers traveled around town “playing Santa” after recovering several stolen packages this week.
In a Wedneday Facebook post titled “How the Grinch Almost Stole Christmas,” the department detailed how officers returned stolen items after a witness alerted police of an apparent package theft from a neighbor’s doorstep.
The witness gave police a physical description of the suspect, his vehicle, and his license plate number. A Norwood officer was then able to locate an individual matching the suspect’s description and recovered several packages in his vehicle that did not belong to him.
The suspect was arrested, and officers eventually found more stolen packages in his residence, according to police.
“A few of our Officers are currently traveling around town in their black and white sleighs, playing Santa, and returning some of the stolen property to the good people of Norwood,” police wrote. “A big thank you is in order to the vigilant witness in this case, we are sure you made someone’s Christmas.”
