Vermont man arrested for assaulting officer, leading police on high-speed chase

POULTNEY, Vt. (AP) — Vermont police say they arrested a man for injuring an officer after leading police on a high-speed chase.

State police say 27-year-old Vincent Striglia drove more than 100 miles per hour as he led police to New York and back early Sunday. Striglia faces charges including driving under the influence and assault on a law enforcement officer.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Striglia has an attorney.

Police say Striglia assaulted a family member before stealing a vehicle, fleeing a Poultney home and leading police on a chase after an attempted traffic stop.

Police say a trooper received a minor injury when Striglia resisted arrest near the Poultney residence.
