Service on Hingham commuter ferry suspended due to ice-damaged dock

The MBTA says free shuttle buses are running between the ferry facility and the West Hingham commuter rail station “until further notice.”

The MBTA has indefinitely suspended ferry service out of Hingham due to ice damage to the dock, announcing Monday night that service would be halted starting Tuesday and would remain suspended “until further notice.”

The transportation agency said free shuttle buses are running between the Hingham ferry facility and the commuter rail station in West Hingham and that monthly ferry passes are being accepted on the rail line.

As of Tuesday morning, the MBTA said ferry service between Hull and Boston is continuing. MBTA officials have warned commuters to expect delays on rail and bus lines this week due to the freezing temperatures.
