Road rage cited as possible cause of fatal Lowell shooting

LOWELL, Mass. (AP) — Prosecutors say an apparent case of road rage led to a fatal shooting in Massachusetts and a 20-year-old woman facing a murder charge.

Graciela Paulino was held without bail Friday after she appeared in court for the shooting death of 34-year-old Marc Devoe.

Authorities say Devoe, of Peabody, and another man were driving near the city train station at about 12:45 p.m. Thursday when an altercation occurred between them and another vehicle driven by Paulino.

They allege the Lowell woman shot Devoe in the chest. He drove a short distance before crashing into a Jersey barrier. The victim was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Prosecutors say the shooting appears random.

The Lowell Sun reports that Paulino’s attorney declined to comment Friday.
