Ice, ice, baby: Figure skating star Adam Rippon shouts out Boston’s drag Queen Elsa

Jason Triplett, dressed in an Elsa costume, pushed a Boston police wagon that was stuck in the snow Tuesday night.

During Tuesday’s nor’easter, Queen Elsa of Arendelle — or, at least, a fabulous drag version of the character from Disney’s “Frozen’’ — helped push a Boston police wagon free from heavy snow in the South End. Folks on the internet couldn’t let it go, and the video of Jason Triplett, the 37-year-old attorney who got the costume last winter, went viral.

Triplett did what any mortal among us would do: He told People that he wanted to meet a kindred spirit on the ice — star of the winter Olympics, US figure skater Adam Rippon.

Rippon, the first openly gay US male athlete to medal in a Winter Olympics, was asked whether he had anything to say to Triplett in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. Looking straight at the camera, with a little smile, the skater said, “They say not all heroes wear capes, but sometimes, they do.’’
