Man struck, killed by commuter rail train in Mansfield

A man was struck and killed by an MBTA Commuter Rail train Monday night in Mansfield, according to authorities.

 MBTA Transit police said in a statement that officers responded to the scene around 9:30 p.m.

The man died after being struck by a Providence-bound train “while trespassing on the right of way” near Norfolk Street, police said.

Authorities said foul play is not suspected and transit police are investigating the incident with the Bristol County District Attorney’s office.
