Police are investigating an alleged sexual assault that occurred at a Massachusetts Institute of Technology fraternity party over the weekend.
MIT police said they were notified Wednesday evening that a woman was raped early Saturday during a party at the Theta Delta Chi fraternity house on Memorial Drive. The victim and suspect were talking during the party, but did not otherwise know each other, according to the statement from police.
“They went […] back to the perpetrator’s bedroom in the fraternity house,” police said. “The Victim/Survivor made clear she did not want to have sex. Despite this, the perpetrator had non-consensual sexual intercourse with Victim/Survivor.”
Police said the woman left “immediately.”
The department did not provide a description of the suspect.
