A California woman was heartbroken when she learned last week that her uncle had donated her wedding dress months ago to a Massachusetts Goodwill. But thanks to social media, she and the dress will be reunited.

Rachele Familia, 37, grew up in Springfield and got married in 2004. She moved to California in 2011. Her late aunt offered to store and preserve her strapless Mon Chéri dress in her Palmer home as a wedding gift, Familia said.

Years later, as Familia and her husband approached their 14-year wedding anniversary, she thought it was time to ship her dress out to California so she could share the memories with her now-11-year-old daughter.
