Jogger fights off kidnapping attempt, suspect arrested

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (AP) — Police say a Massachusetts woman fought off a man who sexually assaulted her and tried to drag her into his car while she was out for a morning jog.

Authorities say the 37-year-old woman was running in Bridgewater Sunday morning when a 57-year-old man stopped his car in front of her.

Bridgeport police say the man grabbed her arms and tried to pull her toward his car, sexually assaulting her during the process.

The woman screamed and fought back, causing them both to fall on the ground. The man fled the scene, but not before the victim captured a photo of his car and provided it to police.

Officers later found the man after he crashed his car in West Bridgewater.

The man is facing kidnapping and assault charges.
