Police in New Hampshire are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who allegedly pulled on a woman’s hijab at a Manchester restaurant.

Manchester police said the simple assault occurred on June 22 at The Farm Bar & Grille. A 25-year-old woman told police she was seated at a table with her co-workers around 4:45 p.m. when a man she didn’t know walked past her and pulled on her hijab.

“The man did not say anything to her prior to the incident, but pulled on the hijab long enough to cause discomfort to her chin and head,” police said.

The man continued to walk toward the bar, but left the restaurant after being confronted by the woman’s co-workers, according to police.

He is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 40-45 years old, possibly 5’06” with dark hair,” the department said.

One of the co-workers took a photo of the man as he left, which police are sharing with the public.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the department.
