Taunton men blew marijuana smoke in a goat’s face, police say

“Throughout the video the men can be seen cheering and laughing at the alleged abuse of the animal."

Three Taunton men are facing animal cruelty charges after authorities say two of them blew marijuana smoke in a goat’s face while a third filmed it earlier this week.

Lorenzo Kelley, 20, Nuno Camara, Jr., 18, and Jared Jorge, 21, were each charged with one count of animal cruelty upon being identified as the men in an online video, Taunton police said in a press release Thursday.

The July 10 video, which circulated around social media, allegedly shows the men removing a goat from its outdoor pen and placing a chain around its neck. Later in the video, two of the men are seen blowing what authorities believe to be marijuana smoke in the goat’s face, police said.

One man is also shown sitting on the animal’s back, according to police, who did not specify the actions each man took.

Throughout the video the men can be seen cheering and laughing at the alleged abuse of the animal,” the release said.

Authorities were notified of the video on Tuesday morning and launched an investigation that led them to find the goat Wednesday at a Thrasher Street home that belongs a relative of Camara, police said.

The goat, which police expect will be OK, is in the custody of Taunton Animal Control and will remain so until the investigation concludes, authorities said.

The three men were issued summons to appear in Taunton District Court, where they will be arraigned at a later date.
