A 24-year-old Billerica man was placed under arrest by transit officers early Wednesday morning in connection to a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred in the area of 141 Bowdoin St. in Dorchester earlier this month, according to Boston police.
Mark Lundy allegedly was driving a Lincoln sedan when he struck and killed a 41-year-old male motorcyclist, and then fled the scene, on July 8, police said.
Around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, transit officers stopped Lundy—who was operating the same vehicle—for traffic violations near Boston and College avenues in Medford.
The previous day, Boston police had received an arrest warrant for Lundy in connection to the July 8 crash out of Dorchester District Court, and, upon learning this, the transit officers arrested Lundy, who was also driving without a valid license, according to police.
Lundy has been charged with vehicular homicide by reckless operation, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash with personal injury, and operating after having his license suspended or revoked. The July 8 crash remains under investigation.
