‘Kill cops’ vandalism investigated in Southbridge
Police in Southbridge early Friday discovered a town sign vandalized with the message “Kill cops.’’
An officer on patrol discovered the vandalism, scrawled in red spray-paint, around 2:20 a.m. at a soccer field on West Street, said Police Sergeant Wayne Boiteau.
The message was discovered hours before slain Weymouth police Sergeant Michael C. Chesna, a 42-year-old husband and father of two, was laid to rest about 80 miles to the east with a funeral Mass in Hanover.
