Police say a man ran out of gas and no one stopped. So he allegedly started waving axes.

Police ended up stopping, and placed him under arrest.

A Connecticut man whose truck ran out of gas allegedly got mad when no one would stop to help—so he began waving axes to get passing motorists’ attention, according to police.

The plan worked in a way, as police received “numerous calls” regarding the incident on Pleasant Valley Road in South Windsor, Connecticut, around 8 p.m. Tuesday and responded to the scene.

“The man said he held two axes as he stood in the roadway to get people’s attention,” according to police.

Police said they arrested the man, identified as Jacob Pritchard, 28, of South Windsor, “based on the annoyance and alarm caused to numerous motorists.” He was charged with breach of peace and threatening in the second degree.
