Police looking for driver accused of dragging state trooper

WEBSTER, Mass. (AP) — Massachusetts State Police are looking for a driver accused of dragging a trooper after fleeing a traffic stop in Webster.

Police say the trooper pulled over the driver of an SUV on Friday on Chase Avenue. After the trooper walked to the side of the car, it sped away and briefly dragged him.

The trooper was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

Police say they’re looking for a 27-year-old man from Fitchburg who was believed to be driving and a 40-year-old woman from Dudley who was a passenger.

Police did not identify the suspects but said both have outstanding criminal warrants. They were driving a green 2008 Honda Pilot.

Police asked anyone with information to call 911.
