Watch: Beachgoers spot shark swimming very close to Cape Cod beach

“It's not coming on the sand, this isn’t ‘Sharknado.’”

A great white shark got a bit close for comfort for some visitors at a Cape Cod beach Monday.

The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy shared a video, captured by beachgoer Kay Marie, of the ocean predator swimming just beyond the breaking waves at Nauset Beach in Orleans.

“Mommy!” shrieks a child in the background.

“It’s not coming on the sand, this isn’t ‘Sharknado,’ what are you doing?” a woman can be heard saying.

Nauset Beach was closed to swimmers around 10:20 a.m. for about an hour on Monday after a shark was seen off the beach, The Boston Globe reports.

According to Sharktivity, the conservancy’s free app that provides information on white shark sightings and movements, about 15 sharks have been detected off the Cape coast in the last 48 hours.
