EAST MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — Authorities in Vermont say an 84-year-old man was seriously injured when he was struck by a truck.
WCAX-TV reports Bernard Corliss was hospitalized Thursday afternoon after being hit in East Montpelier. Police say the East Montpelier man was walking along the road when he was struck by a pickup truck driven by 59-year-old Barbara Noordsij, of Calais.
Authorities say Noorsdij tried to swerve but couldn’t avoid hitting Corliss.
Corliss was airlifted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center where he’s listed in stable condition.
No further details were immediately available.
