4-year-old pulled from Winchester lake by off-duty officer

A 4-year-old boy was pulled from the water at Sandy Beach in Winchester Saturday afternoon and revived by an off-duty Revere police officer, according to authorities.

Fire officials responded to the beach at about 3 p.m. after receiving a call that a boy had been found submerged in the water, according to Winchester Fire Lieutenant Thomas Groux.

When they arrived, the Revere officer was performing CPR on the boy, with the help of a doctor who was at the beach at the time, Groux said.
