Shots were fired on Main Street in Saugus on Tuesday evening, though there were no injuries sustained as a result of the incident, according to a police release.
Police were dispatched to the area of 137 Main St. around 6:37 p.m. and, upon arrival, located shell casings in the roadway, the release said. Officers then secured the scene.
After conducting an on-scene investigation, police learned that an individual — riding in the rear of a blue Chevy sedan with three occupants — allegedly fired several shots out of the vehicle’s rear-passenger-side window while the car was traveling down the street.
The vehicle fled the scene after the shots were fired, police said.
Police are investigating the incident, and are attempting to locate the sedan and its occupants.
