HANOVER, N.H. (AP) — Dartmouth College has set a school record for donations to the Ivy League school in a single year.
The college says gifts and pledges during the fiscal year that ended June 30 totaled $422.6 million, exceeding the 2017 total by 48 percent and the record set in 2016 by nearly 33 percent.
The money has been used for new scholarship funds, increased support for faculty, expanded undergraduate research and improvements to multiple buildings. The college also has invested more in study abroad programs.
More than 81,000 donors have given or committed a total of $1.74 billion toward Dartmouth’s $3 billion fundraising campaign.
