When Massachusetts Environmental Police went to help Falmouth police with a possible hunting issue on Thanksgiving, they found a man with a set of bow and arrows and a headless Canada goose.
Officials went to the Lawrence School at 113 Lakeview Ave. and, along with the dead bird, found several arrows on school grounds, including one that was stuck in the wall of a shed, environmental police said. The man said he had been targeting geese.
The man is being charged with not having a Federal Duck Stamp, not undergoing a hunter education course, procuring a hunting license via a false statement, hunting within 500 feet of an occupied dwelling, and careless use of a weapon resulting in property damage, police said. Officials also seized his hunting gear.
