Man charged with OUI in Braintree pedestrian crash

The victim, a 21-year-old man, was not identified.

A Quincy man accused of driving drunk was arrested for allegedly striking and seriously injuring a pedestrian in Braintree early Saturday morning, and then fleeing, police said.

Darrell Young, 25, was found in Holbrook and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol causing serious injury, leaving the scene of a personal injury crash, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a revoked registration, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, Braintree police said in a statement.

The victim, a 21-year-old man from Braintree who was not identified, remained at a local hospital Saturday afternoon in serious condition, police said.
