Man seriously injured in fall while ice climbing in Vermont

CAMBRIDGE, Vt. (AP) — Police say a man has been seriously injured in a fall while ice climbing in Vermont.

State police say 39-year-old Stephen Charest, of Jericho, was climbing in Cambridge near Smugglers’ Notch Thursday when he fell 40 feet.

Charest was transported by helicopter to the University of Vermont Medical Center for treatment.

Police are still investigating the man’s fall.
