Massachusetts state troopers are looking for a dump truck and its driver, who allegedly left the scene of a fatal crash on Route 195 in Wareham Monday morning.
Shortly before 5 a.m., a 2012 Nissan Titan pickup traveling on Route 195 eastbound is believed to have struck a light gray dump truck before it crashed into the woodline on the right side of the road, according to a release. The dump truck left the scene before troopers arrived, police said.
Police say the passenger in the Nissan, a 48-year-old Fall River man, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver, a 33-year-old Fall River man, was transported to Toby Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
State police are investigating the cause of this crash and looking to identify the truck and driver believed to have been involved, according to the release. The truck may have damage to the left rear of the truck bed, including the possible transfer of black paint.
