Twelve residents fled their homes Monday morning after a fire ripped through the attic of a condo complex in Easton leading to a partial roof collapse, officials said.

Firefighters from Easton, West Bridgewater, Stoughton, and Sharon fire departments rushed to 11 Nancy Road after a report that smoke was showing through the attic of unit four at 4:22 a.m., firefighters said.

Firefighters battled “heavy fire’’ in units four and five for nearly an hour, but contained the one-alarm fire to two of the nine units in the complex, despite a partial roof collapse, according to a statement from Easton Fire Department.
